Eberly College at WVU seeks intern for development office

The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office is pleased to offer a paid summer internship for May 15th- August 15th. The intern will work in the Development Office on variety of projects related to the ECAS Strategic Plan and State of Minds Capital Campaign. Applicants need to have excellent writing and editing skills, the ability to communicate with a wide variety of individuals, the capability of being a self-starter, and vigorous attention to details. Experience with high-level fundraising is a plus.
The intern will be responsible for assisting the Associate Director of Development and the Operations Coordinator with daily tasks, to include but not limited to: alumni relations, fundraising efforts, social media assistance in event planning, and general office support. Management of online content will be a large responsibility. This includes website content and engagement in social networking sites: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. This person will be responsible for website updates and maintenance, for Eberly College and its departmental pages. This includes uploading content. Previous experience with Slate software is preferred, but not required.In addition to these tasks, the following is involved:

  • Writing/editing blog posts
  • Database entry
  • Communication with donors, alumni, faculty and staff including promotion of events, college initiatives, and special projects

A strong Journalism or English background is preferred.
The internship will require you to work 20 hours a week – scheduling of those hours is flexible. Some evening and weekend hours may be required on occasion.
