Steel City Buzz seeks social media intern

STEEL CITY BUZZ INTERNSHIP
This social media internship is a high profile and hands-on experience that demands creativity, good judgment, analytical skills, and a LOVE OF PITTSBURGH SPORTS. Candidates should have an excellent understand of multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others) and knowledge of major Pittsburgh sports franchises. If you do not know how many Super Bowls the Steelers have won or which Pirate won the MVP vote last year, please do not apply.

Responsibilities

1. Weekly responsibility for generating a social media content calendar – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, other platforms.
2. Update SCB social media outlets on breaking news (Steelers, Pirates, Penguins) and update Pirate scores for all home and away games.
3. Perform a “social media audit” to help SCB optimize the use of existing and emerging social media platforms.
4. Generate shareable content (videos, pictures, and promotions) to raise fan engagement levels. SCB has almost 30,000 Likes on Facebook and our content as a reach of 300,000 fans on a weekly basis.
5. Assume the role of an “Admin” on SCB helping users troubleshoot problems on the app or banning users who violate our terms of agreement.
6. Develop promotions to help SCB gain new users – especially with the 18-25 year old demographic.
7. Assisting with fulfillment responsibilities of the SCB Rewards program.

Skills

Extensive experience with social media is a must and other skills such as Photoshop, WordPress, Google Adwords/Adsense/Analytics, and on-line advertising are a plus. The intern should reside or plan to live in the Pittsburgh area for the summer.
