WVU Reed College of Media honors top students at annual ceremony

2014 December Honors Students

The WVU Reed College of Media would like to congratulate its December graduates and recognize the top scholars and Latin Honors students for 2014.

Dean Maryanne Reed announced the top overall scholar in the graduating class and the top scholars in advertising, journalism and public relations at the College’s December Graduate Open House, which was held on Friday, December 19.

This year’s top overall scholar was Brittney Smith. Smith was also the top scholar in public relations. The top scholars in advertising and journalism are Kathryn McCormick and Cory Sanchez respectively.

During a short ceremony in Martin Hall, Dean Reed also recognized the College’s Latin Honors students. Those receiving Summa Cum Laude (GPA 3.80 or higher) are Sara Cottle, Ryan Glaspell, Kathryn McCormick, Lacey Palmer, Cory Sanchez and Brittney Smith. Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.60-3.79) recipients include Hannah Eaves and Victoria Licata. The students who received Cum Laude (GPA 3.40-3.59) are Allison Heller, Kelsie Vanderwijst and Hannah Wigal.

After the honors ceremony, graduates and their guests were invited to a reception in Martin Hall before attending the main Commencement ceremony at the WVU Coliseum.
