Atlanta Spirit LLC internship program for fall 2010

Is the professional sports industry in your future career path? Here’s your chance to experience it first hand while interning at a dynamic organization. Atlanta Spirit LLC is the home of the Atlanta Hawks (NBA), Atlanta Thrashers (NHL) and world-class entertainment venue, Philips Arena. We are looking for passionate team players to participate in our Fall 2010 course credit internship program. This program is designed to give top students real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry in addition to providing educational and networking opportunities. Educational components include interactive workshops, executive speaker series and job shadow opportunities.

Creative competition to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Youth advocate Lacy Pittman has envisioned a competition sponsored by the HSC Foundation called “My Generation: Youth, the ADA, and Art”, which invites young individuals with disabilities ages 16 to 24 to interpret their thoughts about the Americans with Disabilities Act through a creative medium.

Eligible entries include paintings, videos (3 minute maximum), posters (hand drawn or digital), works of literature (4 pages, 2000 words max, double spaced, 12 size Arial font), or drawings that illustrate the historical and societal impact of the ADA.

Temple wins national award for death penalty book

John Temple’s latest non-fiction thriller continues to garner national attention.

Temple, an associate professor at West Virginia University’s P.I. Reed School of Journalism, was recently named the recipient of The American Society of Legal Writers Scribes 2010 Book Award American Society of Legal Writers Scribes 2010 Book Award, for his book, The Last Lawyer: The Fight to Save Death Row Inmates.
