Concepts, Inc., (www.conceptspr.com) a woman-owned public relations firm in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented communications professional to support a veteran-related government contract.
Responsibilities for this full-time position will include:
- Building media lists and contact databases
- Drafting press releases, media advisories and other communications materials
- Assisting with research and development of social media strategies and execution on multiple platforms
- Preparing media kits, conference materials, etc., for distribution
- Conducting research on a variety of subject matters, including resources, services and other materials
- Contributing to the development and implementation of website organization and recommending enhancements
- Assisting team members with other duties, as needed
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in media or public relations, preferably within an agency setting
- A Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related field
- An interest or experience in military and veterans affairs
- Proven research, writing and editing skills
- Excellent analytical skills; the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills
- Previous media pitching experience and a working knowledge of media search databases
- Experience with social media outreach and platforms
