While working as the marketing coordinator for the Clay Center in Charleston, W.Va., Wootton decided to further her education in marketing to enhance her credentials.
“The flexibility of the IMC program allowed me to continue to work full time and start a family while completing my master’s degree. I gave birth to my daughter in May 2010 and was still able to finish my last four classes and graduate in May 2011.”
Wootton believes her IMC education enhanced her marketing experience and led her into her new position.
“This was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up and I’m looking forward to this new chapter in my life. As I was nearing graduation, I began to wonder if getting my master’s degree would be worth in it the end. I had no idea how quickly it would pay off!”
Before working for the Clay Center, Wootton worked for Lawyers & Leisure Magazine, the Greenbrier Valley Theatre, and the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering. She received a bachelor’s degree from the WVU School of Journalism in 2006.
