West Virginia University’s Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is seeking an intern for Summer or Fall 2011. The intern will assist in general CCE programing, including the First Year Experience Program. The mission of CCE involves: Raising campus consciousness of the importance of civic engagement for an educated, democratic citizenry; Developing and organizing service learning and volunteer opportunities for students and faculty; Consulting with academic units on implementing civic engagement into curricula; Assessing civic engagement activities across campus. The intern will report to Kristi Wood-Turner, Interim Program Director of the CCE. The type of role the intern will serve in will be in an administrative and teaching capacity to University 101 programs and the CCE. There are a number of tasks that the intern will complete in the upcoming summer/semester with the main project being the implementation, instruction and supervision of courses required for the Service Learning portion of the WVU first year course.
