Enter The Huffington Post politics icon competition

When Huffington Post Politics launched its Twitter account in July of 2008, George Bush was president, Sarah Palin was unknown to most Americans and the Tea Party movement had not yet been launched. Circumstances are decidedly different in the summer of 2011.

As the 2012 election news cycle revs up, they’re looking to spruce up the look of their social media channels—and they’d like your help.

Do you know your way around Photoshop or other design programs? Have a cool idea for a logo that screams ‘awesome politics coverage’? Enter it in the HuffPost Politics Icon Competition.

For the next week or so, they’ll be accepting your proposed designs for a new HuffPost Politics logo. Once they have a good group together, they’ll put them all up for a vote, which will inform the final pick. If yours wins, your icon will be used to represent this channel all over the interwebs—with credit to you, of course.

How to Enter

Images should be square in shape and in one of the standard web image formats (.jpg, .gif, .png). To enter your proposed design, send your image, name, HuffPost screen name (if you have one), email address and Twitter handle (if you have one) one of the following ways:

1. Click on “Send Photos and Videos” under “Contribute to the Story” near the bottom of this page.

2. Send them a tweet at @HuffPostPolitics with the image (they’ll get the rest of your info later). Make sure you say it’s for the Icon Competition.

3. Email them at electiontips@huffingtonpost.com.

4. Share your image on their Facebook Wall (make sure you say it’s for the Icon Competition).

Note: In submitting your image, you are agreeing that the image in question is yours to share. You are also agreeing that we may use this image on the site and possibly on our social media accounts.
