Assistant Professor Dr. Rita Colistra was presented with a SuPRstar Award at the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication (AEJMC) National Conference in St. Louis earlier this month. Presented by the Public Relations Division, the award recognizes outstanding achievement for Professional Freedom & Responsibility. Colistra was acknowledged for her work on the Ritchie County Buy Local Initiative, for serving as the faculty adviser for WVU’s award-winning PRSSA chapter, and for the professional workshops she offers throughout the state. She was nominated for the award by Dr. Diana Martinelli, interim associate dean and public relations program chair.
