Hours/Pay:
Part-time/20 hours per week/9:30-5 p.m. (over at least three days)
$600 monthly stipend

August/September – December 2012

Description:
The Consumer Rights Coalition (CRC), centrally located in downtown Washington, D.C., seeks to fill the position of Digital Communications Associate. The primary objective of this INTERNSHIP is to support the Director of Public Affairs with marketing communication to include, but not limited to, the following:
Writing and disseminating original content for members, stakeholders and the press through the CRC website, social media, blogs and email; Reviewing and editing both online and print copy; Understanding of Facebook ads, keyword search and search engine optimization; Organizing and executing a variety of event logistics, including preparation, attendance and participation in political hearings and industry conferences and state visits; Managing administrative items as needed.

The ideal candidate will be an out-of-the-box thinker who is looking for new opportunities to expand on current experience with all facets of communications and marketing. This opportunity provides excellent room for learning and growth.

Requirements:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, political science, business or related field; Superior awareness and proficiency in social media to include, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and online forums; Excellent research skills; Experience with multimedia and technology; Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail, time management and organizational skills; and, Outgoing personality with a “can do” attitude.
