Student benefits offered by the Broadcast Education Association

The School of Journalism is a Broadcast Education Association (BEA) member, which entitles students to several benefits.

  • Students can can become BEA members at NO cost
  • Student members can apply for one of the BEA National Scholarships in broadcasting
  • Students can enter the BEA Festival of Media Arts competition in the fall and the BEA/NABEF Freedom of Speech PSA Competition each spring
  • Students can participate in the Student Research in Progress Competition that takes place in Las Vegas
  • Students receive the member discount rate to attend BEA’s annual convention and the NAB Show in Las Vegas
  • Students members receive information about internships and special offers from a variety of BEA partnering organizations
