Event planning intern wanted - Interviews Sept. 12 and 13!

The Skolny Family Organization is an intellectual capital and venture marketing company in our launch phase. We are looking for a paid intern to assist us with event planning and execution.

Description
You will work directly with our President to promote and publicize our Organizational brand by assisting with the planning, promotion, and execution of “The Success Conference: Greatness Through the Individual” that will occur at Rock Top Bar and Grill on October 26 and 27.

Qualifications
While some sale training or experience is helpful, we understand that an internship is a starting point and your previous experience will neither qualify nor disqualify you for this position. We are actively seeking a student who shares our GTIdeology, is eager to become a contributing member of our Culture of Greatness, and determined to use this internship as more than a resume line item or source of a few credit hours.

If you are interested in this position, that by itself makes us interested in learning more about you. We are not uninterested in what you have done, but more interested in what you will do, both in this position and the future.

Opportunity and Compensation
It is our objective to provide you with quantifiable real-world experience and to help you to establish and begin building a professional network, including developing and expanding your own digital foot print and personal brand. You will be invited to attend and participate in meetings with our partners and vendors and to be actively engaged in all phases of planning, strategy and execution.

You will be compensated by commission of the event’s net profit.

We anticipate this position could be expanded and continued for the Spring semester and expect it could lead to future employment with us, either as a student or a graduate.

Duration
This internship is available immediately and will continue until November 16, 2012.

Academic Credit
Depending on your needs, schedule and the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism’s expectations, this internship may be adapted to provide credit hours.

Interviews for this position will occur Wednesday and Thursday, September 12 and 13, in the WVU Career Services Center in the Mountainlair (or otherwise by appointment).
