Augusta Chronicle seeking copy editors

The Augusta Chronicle, a daily newspaper serving east-central Georgia, has immediate openings on its night copy desk for full-time copy editors.
A part of Morris Communications, The Chronicle newsroom operates under a digital-first philosophy. Copy editors oversee production of a Drupal-based Web site – the award-winning www.augustachronicle.com – editing stories, writing SEO headlines, determining how content is presented, and packaging related links and stories. The Chronicle also offers Android, iPhone and iPad apps, and opportunities for continued development and improvement of these platforms abound.

Strong copy editing and compelling design for the print product remain a daily priority for the 17-person copy desk.

Requirements
Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, InCopy and Photoshop are a must. Two years’ experience is preferred, but recent graduates will be considered. Send your cover letter, resume and clips to Digital Specialist Emily Ristow at Emily.ristow@augustachronicle.com.
