The Journal Star in Peoria, Ill. is seeking an intern to help with multimedia/photography for the spring 2013 semester.
BACKGROUND
This 72,000- circulation daily paper in Peoria, Ill. – the largest newspaper south of Chicago – is known as a great place for photojournalists year in and year out. Interns are paid and receive regular assignment work that will receive great display and build their skills. Interns are treated like any other member of the photo staff.
QUALIFICATION
College junior or above; recent graduates also eligible. Previous newspaper experience is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is required.
Applicants must be technically proficient with digital workflow and remote transmission. Some Nikon gear will be provided (older digital bodies, long pool lenses) along with laptops and location lighting kits. A company cell phone is also provided, along with use of company vehicles.
Ideal candidates have video/multimedia experience; HDV equipment with wireless audio and Final Cut editing software provided.
