On Wednesday, April 17, the SOJ Commencement ticket-claim website will reopen at 9 a.m. At this time, participants will be allowed to claim and print additional guest tickets. The process will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please claim only the tickets you absolutely need for the ceremony, as to allow as many guests as possible to attend. Understand that all seats in the theater are assigned, and it may not be possible for all ticket holders to be located together.
An overflow seating area will be available in the lobby of the Creative Arts Center where guests can watch a live video stream of the ceremony on multiple TV screens if they are not seated in the theater. West Virginia University re-evaluates and plans each year’s May Commencement ceremonies with many details taken into consideration. The University schedules the most appropriate-sized venues according to graduate numbers of each college and when venues are available, allowing us to celebrate with more than 4,000 graduates and welcome more than 30,000 guests in one exciting weekend.
