Technical Editor position available with technical consulting firm

Stoller, a technical consulting firm based in Colorado, as the following position available for a technical editor. This position can be located in any of the following offices: Grand Junction, CO, Morgantown, WV, or Westminster, CO

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • Under limited review, edits project proposals and bid documents, documentation to support project deliverables and other technical reports.
  • Compiles and incorporates technical data into approved format and resolves inconsistencies in technical data.
  • Edits documents that have multiple authors for consistency in writing style and text
  • May assist with developing and writing project and section procedures, schedules and checklists.
  • Provides word processing and document production support.
  • May provide support in information gathering, distribution and control of program/project specific documents.
  • Interfaces with other departments in obtaining needed information.
  • Develops and maintains peer review data library.
  • Trains and mentors more junior staff.
  • May develop and lead projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts, and techniques in technical writing and editing, word processing and document production.
  • Skill and ability to perform highly complex and critical professional tasks and to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity, with considerable latitude for independent judgment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at the highest levels.
  • Ability to train and mentor more junior staff.
  • Can be viewed as a capable independent contributor and as competent within the broad discipline.
  • Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Strong expertise in grammar, syntax, and technical editing/writing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word 2010.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Business Administration or related technical discipline with specialized training in technical communication, or equivalent, and at least 6 years of experience.
