SOJ student Bumgardner published on Scientific American site

Bryan BumgardnerBryan Bumgardner, a print journalism senior, is working as a summer intern at Scientific American magazine. One of his pieces, “Bizarre New “Texas Longhorn” Dinosaur Bolsters Controversial Theory of Dino Diversity,” was published July 17 on the Scientific American website. The story examines how discovery of a new fossil lends credence to a theory that may explain the wide diversity of dinosaur species in Western North America.

“Doing science journalism for a magazine is a dream come true. I’m so excited to live in a new city and learn from the best writers, editors and designers in the business,” Bumgardner said. He will return to Morgantown this fall to complete his degree.
