SOJ student reports on Charleston chemical spill for Scientific American

Bryan BumgardnerJournalism senior Bryan Bumgardner, a native of Quiet Dell, W.Va., learned his lessons in the field this week—reporting for a national news organization.

Scientific American online published Bumgardner’s story, “Surviving the West Virginia Water Crisis,” about the Charleston chemical spill. Bumgardner also produced a slideshow to accompany the piece.
