WVU Healthcare seeking Communications Specialist for intranet

WVU Healthcare is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience and skills in web content management, writing and editing for the web, web/project management and graphic design. He/she will be responsible for helping to develop the organization’s internal online presence.

The Communications Specialist must be a strong writer and have basic knowledge of HTML and Adobe Photoshop. He/she must possess the ability to organize information and make it web-ready and user-friendly. This individual must understand information architecture and the importance of providing positive user experiences by planning and designing the information structure for websites.

This individual will help develop new web content and websites and edit current web content and websites. He/she will build and update websites and webpages using a content management system, ensuring consistency and effectiveness of presentation for all elements.

The Communications Specialist needs to have the ability to juggle multiple priorities and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills. He/she will work closely with departments throughout WVU Healthcare to develop and maintain internal websites, and provide training for site editors, as appropriate. The Communications Specialist will also develop a tracking mechanism to ensure all websites are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
In addition to web work, the specialist will provide support for other internal communication efforts, as well as for community relations activities.
