Dr. George EsperThe late Dr. George Esper will be inducted into the Uniontown Area High School Hall of Fame next month. The induction ceremony is on Saturday, September 13 at 8:30 a.m. at the Uniontown High School Cafeteria and Auditorium.

Esper, a renowned journalist and beloved professor, was born and raised in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He went on to spend 42 years with the Associated Press (AP), spending 10 of those years covering the Vietnam War. After retiring from the AP, Esper returned to his alma mater to teach in the WVU Reed College of Media in the spring semester of 2000.

Esper passed away in February 2012, but those who knew and loved him are welcome to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony to honor his legacy. Click here for more information on the Hall of Fame Weekend at Uniontown Area High School.
