The Green Team is looking for a volunteer to take on a significant role in an effort to expand Morgantown’s recycling program in the commercial business sector by working with a Green Team committee of citizens, businesspeople and city officials. This internship is being offered for one semester but may be extended up to a full calendar year. It will require a commitment of approximately 5 to 7 hours per week.
Responsibilities Include:
– Attend and record minutes of all meetings arranged with representatives from the Green Team, City officials, local business owners, and the local collection company
– Document the current status of commercial business recycling. i.e., what businesses are recycling, what items they are recycling, what businesses want to recycle but cannot, etc.
– Provide informal weekly report to the City Engineering Office
– Present oral and written report to the Green Team at its monthly meeting
– Possibly draft/contribute to oral and written reports to the Morgantown City Council if the project warrants it
Qualifications:
– Ability to work well with citizens, business owners, and city officials
– Strong writing abilities
– Reliable and consistent worker
