Two faculty members honored

Congratulations to two WVU Reed College of Media faculty members who have been invited to participate in prestigious events.

Associate Professor Sammy Lee was invited to speak at AdStar 2014 in August. AdStar is a premier advertising festival in Asia (http://www.adstars.org/), similar to CLIO in the US. He presented to about 300 people and also moderated a panel discussion at the event, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy of the Republic of Korea.

Associate Professor Joel Beeson was invited by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation to serve as a panelist for a session called BRAINTRUST Lessons for Today’s Returning Iraq and Afghanistan Soldiers and Their Families, Sept. 26, in Washington, DC.

This annual Foundation gathering “addresses issues that impact the African-American community and the African diaspora” and is the “premier public policy conference that addresses issues impacting African Americans and black communities around the world.” It attracts nearly 9,000 attendees. The host for Joel’s session is Rep. Corrine Brown (FL).
