Executive Editor of the Charleston Gazette to conduct in-person interviews for summer reporting internships on Feb. 19

Mr. Robert Byers, Executive Editor of the Charleston Gazette, will conduct in-person interviews in Martin Hall on Thursday, Feb. 19th, for summer reporting internships.

The Charleston Gazette is West Virginia’s largest newspaper. Their interns are very much a part of the reporting staff and cover everything from features to breaking news. They’re looking for applicants – preferably those finishing their sophomore or junior year—who have student newspaper experience and a desire to be a journalist upon graduation. The 13-week program usually begins in mid-May and ends in mid-August, but can be tailored to fit your college schedule. The position pays $350 per week.

To apply, send a resume, cover letter and three reporting clips (links are acceptable) to Executive Editor Rob Byers at robbyers@wvgazette.com.

Interview slots are available at 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, 3:00 and 3:15. Please contact Eric Minor (eric.minor@mail.wvu.edu) IMMEDIATELY with your top three time choices and he’ll book your spot on a first-come, first-served basis.

PLEASE NOTE—THIS IS SEPARATE FROM THE CHARLESTON DAILY MAIL INTERVIEWS HAPPENING ON Monday, FEBRUARY 16TH.
