Diversity & Disability Fellowship: The WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED)

The WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) is recruiting graduate and professional students to participate in the Disability & Diversity Fellowship Program. Two graduate students from diverse backgrounds will be awarded a Diversity & Disability Fellowship starting in the spring semester of 2016 continuing through the summer of 2016. The fellows will receive a tuition waiver and be paid a stipend for living expenses during the spring and summer semesters.

This Diversity & Disability Fellowship Program will increase knowledge of disability services and supports and improve workforce capacity to serve individuals with disabilities and their families.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Enroll in two Disability Studies courses taught through WVU
  • Participation in clinic/observational experiences and other training opportunities
  • Completing a 60 hour hands-on volunteer and capstone project

To be eligible for this fellowship graduate and professional level students must be from diverse backgrounds, must be a U.S. Citizens and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be from racial and/or ethnic minority backgrounds
  • Have limited English proficiency
  • Be from underserved geographic areas (rural or urban)
  • Have a disability
  • Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender
