Graphic design internship/volunteer opportunity

The Office of Multicultural Programs / Office of Student Life is looking for a graphic design intern. He or she will be responsible for taking media, such as dates, times, film synopsis and pictures, and creatively using it to create posters 
advertising events for the Office of Multicultural Studies. Qualified candidates must be able to follow work on a deadline and within small time-frames. Most posters deal with movies featured during Brown Bag Luncheons. This internship is not paid.

Journalism internships available at the WVU College of Engineering and Mineral Resources

Two or 3 interns are wanted for the fall and spring semesters.

Internship 1 1 (1-2 positions)
Work will be a mix between both print and electronic media. We will 
be working on communication plans for recruiting graduate and 
undergraduate students. Print materials will include brochures and 
newspaper adds. Electronic material will include website upkeep and 
creation of videos. We will also be trying to increase our presence 
in “new media” outlets. These positions will be paid starting at $8/ 
hr and 10 hrs/week.

Online communications manager wanted

Congressman Wolf (R-VA) is looking for an online communications manager to join his staff. The position is an entry level position and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include: maintaining the congressman’s Web site, working with the chief of staff and legislative staff to ensure Web content is current and updating as necessary, writing a bi-weekly e-newsletter, and assisting the computer systems manager with daily e-mail downloading and sorting. They are looking for a strong writer with initiative and creativity. The right person will have the opportunity to also work closely with our chief of staff, who doubles as press secretary, on the office’s press operation.

Communications internship

The Hispanic College Fund is seeking two unpaid, part-time Communications Interns for Fall 2009 (possibly into Spring 2010). These interns will work closely with the Director of Communications to develop and execute media strategy, produce written communications for a variety of constituent groups, and create marketing materials to build HCF’s brand identity in the education sphere.

We are currently seeking interns who can devote 10 – 15 hours per week to this position. Main responsibilities will include weekly media monitoring, compiling media lists, developing media kits, contacting media, and composing media advisories, pitches, and press releases. Occasional public policy and development-related research will also be required.
