May Commencement schedule announced!

Attention all May graduation candidates!
The schedule for WVU’s 2010 May Commencement has been announced. The P.I. Reed School of Journalism ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at 10:00 am at the Creative Arts Center. While the ceremony begins at 10:00 am, graduates are asked to arrive by 9:00 am.

All graduation candidates must apply for graduation and will be required to RSVP for the May ceremony. Due to limited seating, we are asking that graduates limit their number of guests to six. An online RSVP form will be released in early spring and every graduate attending the ceremony must submit the form.

City of Morgantown offering paid internship for "green" campaign

The City of Morgantown is looking for a Media and Communications Intern to assist the Morgantown Municipal Green Team with its 2010: It’s Easy Being Green campaign. The general focus is on environmental issues and sustainability. This position will provide experience in developing skills in working with print and electronic media, as well as facilitating communication and the coordination of activities involving non-profit organizations, local businesses, and the Morgantown city government. This will involve the preparation of print media, including flyers and brochures for distribution at various public events. It will also include the preparation of electronic media suitable for posting on the web. The ideal candidate would be a graduate student or an advanced undergraduate student in journalism or communications with excellent writing ability. Familiarity with software used for combining text and graphic design in print and electronic media is also important. The position pays $8.00 per hour.
