Governor's press secretary says IMC degree will assist her in new role

When Kimberly Osborne entered the Integrated Marketing Communications master’s degree program at West Virginia University she knew she was on the right path – she just didn’t know where that path would lead her.

“When I began my IMC studies I had no idea the opportunities that would come forth,” said Osborne who graduated from the program, a component of WVU’s P.I. Reed School of Journalism, in 2006.

Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce Internship Program

Internships at Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) are for full-time juniors and seniors in 4-year colleges and universities. Interns receive college credit and are without financial compensation. The Chamber allows one-full-semester internship per student. The minimum hours worked is 10 weeks, 12 hours per week. The length of the Internship and the number of hours awarded for the work is made in accordance with university policies. As the Chamber considers resumes, it attachs the same standards that it uses when hiring staff.

To apply, students should submit a resume and a cover letter, stating the area in which they want to intern. Internship positions are usually available in newsletter writing, design and production, electronic communications and social media. Information is also required from the student’s faculty advisor stating the length of the internship and that they will receive credit before any internship is made final.
