TopNotch® Records, a division of TopNotch® Entertainment Corp., has a PAID internship open for the summer (June- July 2011) period in Fort Myers, Fla., as a “PR- Promotions Assistant”.

They will also have a paid Co-Op position, starting in Sept 2011, with the same functions for an entire semester.

The Butler Eagle has an opening for a full-time position in the sports department. This is for a sports copy editor/sports reporter. This person will edit copy and lay out pages about half the time and
write stories the other half of the time. Candidates should have several years of experience for this job. The Eagle is a six-day, afternoon daily with a circulation of 27,000. For sports, it covers 11 high schools, Slippery Rock University and Butler County Community College. The Mountaineer Academic Program (MAP) is seeking energetic and motivated tutors for the Fall 2011 Semester. The MAP works with students with disabilities in order to assist with academic success. Individuals working as tutors in this program will work one-on-one with students in individual content areas. Tutors will also be charged with assisting students in gaining basic study and time management skills.

Applicants for this position must be a full time undergraduate or graduate student at West Virginia University, have earned 29 or more credit hours by the start of the Fall 2011 semester, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, and have strong written and oral English communication skills. MAP is looking for tutors in several areas including Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Child Development Studies, Communications Studies, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Geology, Geography, Journalism, Math, Physics and Statistics. It is preferred that applicants for this position have completed course work in liberal arts areas such as English, History, Sociology and Psychology.

Assist Regional Coordinator to:

• Recruit organizational partners to participate in a broad-based coalition to endorse and implement the Affordable Care Act. Potential organizational members include county Family Resource Networks, community health clinics, faith-based organizations, labor organizations and other organizations. 
• Recruit individuals to participate in WVAHC’s half-day training sessions. These sessions will be held July 2011 through June 2012. Participants in the training session will be expected to educate at least 50 individuals in their local area.
• Help plan and participate in the bi-monthly Health Reform Implementation Coalition state meetings, and participate in the workgroup committees of the Implementation Coalition as appropriate.
• Work to establish county WVAHC organizations.
• Provide training to local community organizations on the Affordable Care Act. Previous experience in health care policy is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the media in local/regional markets.
• Participate, as appropriate, with the Offices of the Insurance Commissioners Consumer Group meetings to provide a consumer perspective on the development of the West Virginia Health Benefit Exchange. 
• Work to enhance utilization of social media in promoting the goals of WVAHC.
• Monitor and keep up to date on health care issues in West Virginia.

The Blue and Gold News is looking to hire an intern for the fall and spring semesters. The Blue and Gold News is both an online and print publication catering to the ultimate Mountaineer Sports fan.
This is an opportunity for a student to get practical real-world experience covering major college athletics.

The Federal Public Defender Office for the Northern District of West Virginia is accepting applications for the position of Investigator for our Clarksburg office. The Federal Public Defender Office operates under the authority of the Criminal Justice Act, 18 U.S.C. §3006A, to provide defense services for indigent persons in federal criminal cases and related matters in federal court.
Primary Job Duties: Provide all investigative support for cases pending at the district court level. Locate and interview victims, witnesses and law enforcement personnel. Prepare detailed and accurate memoranda of interviews. Recreate crime scenes by measuring, photographing and sketching. Review and analyze discovery and other case documentation. Locate public and private records such as criminal records, medical records, and records of court proceedings. Assist attorneys at hearings and trials by evaluating testimony, coordinating witnesses and documentation; and serving FRCP Rule 17 subpoenas. Investigate client background for medical, psychological, criminal or other areas that may justify a departure or variance from otherwise applicable Sentencing Guidelines. This position requires resourcefulness and creativity, and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

WIRED Internships

Wired magazine seeks four interns for its San Francisco office. The full-time internships will run from July 6, 2011 to December 30, 2011 and focus on the Play section, gadgets research, fact-checking, and the Start section. All four positions involve working closely with senior editors.
