The P.I. Reed School of Journalism is offering a limited number of cash awards to students who have secured major-market journalism internships or have been accepted in a journalism study abroad program in 2010. This includes all areas of study – advertising; public relations; and television, print or visual journalism. The awards will range from $500-1,000.
The WVU Chapter of Society of Professional Journalists will host Kevin Smith, the National SPJ president. Smith will speak to SOJ students on Monday, March 10 at 7:30 pm, in room 205 in Martin Hall. Smith will discuss issues such as the future of the media and source relationships in natural disasters. Free food and drink will be provided, along with door prizes.
