A One-Stop Shop for West Virginia University May 2012 graduates will be set up in two different locations for the convenience of students all over campus: the Engineering Mineral Resources Atrium on Feb. 20 and the Mountainlair Commons Area on Feb. 21 and 22.
The shops run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and offer different stations where students can purchase graduation necessities such as official regalia, official WVU class rings from Herff Jones, invitations and more.
Leadership West Virginia, now in its 21st year of service, identifies and develops emerging leaders from various state employers. These top-quality individuals are recognized not only for their leadership skills, but for civic engagement and public affairs experiences, as well as established professional careers.
This year, the class will have the opportunity to amplify their leadership skills by traveling to eight communities in West Virginia. During these visits, the class will gain an understanding of key issues concerning the state. These topics include economic development, education, healthcare and government.

The WVU P.I. Reed School of Journalism and the West Virginia Press Association will co-host a digital strategies workshop next month to help the Mountain State’s community newspapers answer this question.
On Tuesday, April 3, the WVU P.I. Reed School of Journalism will co-sponsor the moderated panel discussion “The Revolution Will Be Tweeted: Social Media and Free Speech in the Middle East,” which will examine the impact of social media on democracy movements in the Middle East and around the world. Many of the panelists were involved with the Arab Spring.

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation Student Internship Program is now accepting applications for Summer 2012. The program provides more than 40 industry-wide internships to college and graduate students and has been hailed for more than a decade as one of the top 10 internship programs in the country.
The program is designed to provide college students with in-depth exposure to professional television production during an eight-week summer period in Los Angeles. All positions are full-time and interns receive a $4,000 stipend.
